German tatician Gernot Rohr is satisfied with the performance of Super Eagles defender Valentine Ozornwafor following his impressive display in the goalless draw against Cameroon in their second International friendly in Austria on Tuesday.

Rohr handed Ozornwafor a starting berth to mark his debut with the National team as he replaced injured William Troost-Ekong who wasn’t available for the tie.

The gaffer however believes the defender has silenced doubters who were not satisfied with his inclusion in the team as numerous question were being raised concerning his invitation after finding it hard to get game time with his club last season.

“We had problem in the defense so for the first time we played Valentine and he did very well”, Rohr told Super Eagles media.

“I’m very happy for Valentine because a lot of people did not understand why he was with us. He showed today the reason why he can play with us, he did very well in central defense”.

“Like I said before, the result is not the most important, what is important is to test some players and see new faces which was the case again today”

Valentine was part of the Flying Eagles team to the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland, they however ended their campaign in the round of 16 after being sent packing by west Africa neighbors Senegal.
