Abiodun Omolaoye has shared his thoughts after Kwara United were held to a 2-2 draw by Bendel Insurance at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Saturday.

The Harmony Boys who were looking to bounce back from their disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Shooting Stars last weekend were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw by the Benin Arsenals.

Goals from Sadiq Yusuf and Godwin Oshabemi had given the visitors a first half lead in the game but goals from Stephen Sodje and Sarki Ismael ensured that the host would escape defeat in front of their fans in the Nigeria premier football league (NPFL) matchday nine encounter on Saturday

Abiodun Omolaoye stated that they gave their best in the game and were unlucky not to leave with the maximum points.

“It was a game we should have won, we tried our best, we gave everything but at the end we were unlucky not to have gotten the win. But we will take this point as positive and hope to bounce back with a good display in our next game,” Omolaoye told OWOSPORTS.COM.NG after the game in Benin on Saturday.

“We are focused on our objective for the season. It is important for us not to relent because the season is still very much fresh with a lot of games still to play.

“We know how difficult things can be with a lot of teams fighting for the title and also others battling to escape relegation but will keep our heads high and focus on the task ahead of us”.

The midfielder replaced Samson Paul at the start of the second half to make his second appearance for Kwara United this season.
