Nigerian forward Itimi Mercy has once again proven her worth as a valuable asset to Sporting Casablanca in the Moroccan Women’s Championship after scoring her 13th league goal of the season.

Mercy came in as a second-half substitute and scored a crucial late equalizer in the 89th minute to earn her team a vital point against Hilal Temara in their Moroccan Women’s league clash on Sunday at the Ba Mohammed Stadium.

The former Bayelsa Queens forward has had an impressive run of form since joining the Moroccan giants last summer. The forward’s contribution has been instrumental in Sporting Casablanca’s bid to qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League.

With this draw, Sporting Casablanca remains in third place with 52 points, just a point behind second-placed RS Berkane, who has 53 points. To secure a spot in the prestigious tournament, Sporting Casablanca will need to finish in the top two positions.
