Iwobi Could Start Against Lesotho After Covid-19 Test Came Negative

Good news from the Super Eagles camp as Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi was tested negative in a fresh covid19 test conducted ahead of the final African cup of Nations qualifier against the Crocrodiles of Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

Iwobi was tested positive ahead of the Super Eagles African cup of Nations qualifiying match against the Squirrels of Benin in Porto Novo which ruled him out of the tie, the Super Eagles went on to win 1-0 condemning the Squirrels to their first home defeat in eight years.

The results of the covid19 test means the former Arsenal star will be available for selection as the Super Eagles takes on Lesotho later today.

The 24- year old who is Nigerian second top scorer with three goals behind striker Victor Osimhen who is on four goals in the AFCON qualifiers so far will be looking to add to his tally should he feature in the game today, by 5pm.

Super Eagles have booked their spot to next year’s African cup of Nations in Cameroon, as they currently top Group L with 11points after five rounds of games.
