SGFC Athletics have officially confirmed the return of Coach Jamiu Issa as Head Coach ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
Fondly known as “The Future One”, Coach Issa rejoins the club following a period of advanced technical and tactical development. He brings with him a wealth of refreshed knowledge and experience that aligns with the club’s renewed ambition for success.
His return is seen as a strategic move as SGFC Athletics looks to build on a solid foundation of tactical discipline, youth development, and a market-driven football philosophy.
In his first stint with SGFC in 2022, Coach Jamiu made an immediate impact—guiding the club to a historic Evolution Cup victory and a third-place finish in the Nationwide League One (NLO). His ability to balance performance with player development earned him widespread praise from fans and observers alike.
“Jamiu Issa aligns with SGFC Athletics’ core values—developing players tactically, achieving set targets, and pushing a successful, market-relevant football brand,” said club President, Richard Opanuga, in an official statement.
Since his departure, Coach Issa has gained further experience with Hypebuzz FC and Star Builders FC, where he continued to hone his craft and deepen his tactical expertise. His journey through these roles has shaped him into an even more rounded and forward-thinking coach.
