Jojo opens goal account as Warriors hold Shooting Stars in Maiduguri

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles midfielder, Alabi Sulaiman Jojo, has netted his first NPFL goal.

Alabi scored in the 81st to rescue point for Elkanemi Warriors in their 2-2 draw with Shooting Stars of Ibadan.

The maiduguri based side, under the tutelage of Coach Aliyu Zubairu, had to rally back in the game after conceding 2 goals earlier.

The Flying Eagles’ star heroic performance widely applauded in the game, helping the home side salvaged a draw in an important game.

Speaking after the encounter, Alabi expressed his delight on scoring his first NPFL goal, saying it’s a dream come true.

“I am very happy to have scored an important goal for my team. It’s a dream come true”

Alabi, who was part of the Nigeria’s Flying Eagles team that won the WAFU-B championship last October, said his main objective is to continue to help the team.

“My main goal is to continue to help the team alongside my teammates. I believe we will finish stronger at the end of the season, ” he stated.

It’s Alabi first season in the NPFL. He was part of the Elkanemi Warriors’ historic squad that secured NPFL promotion from the NNL and also won the Nigerian FA Cup( President Federation Cup) last season.
