In a thrilling match at the ongoing Evolution Cup Pan African tournament, SGFC Athletics dominated Ubogu FC 4-1, with Joseph Emmanuel delivering a standout performance.
Despite both teams being eliminated, they played for pride, and SGFC Athletics emerged victorious.
The first half ended goalless, but SGFC Athletics broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute when Caleb Apata headed in Joseph Emmanuel’s cross.
Joseph Emmanuel doubled the lead seven minutes later, and although Abubakar Daura reduced the deficit immediately after the restart, Joseph Emmanuel scored again in the 62nd minute. Abayomi Ayodeji sealed the win with the final goal of the game.
Joseph Emmanuel was deservedly voted Man of the Match and expressed his delight.
“I’m very happy because I haven’t been playing from the start of the tournament, and I’m glad to prove the coaches wrong that I should be starting.”
He also shared his aspirations
“I hope to improve my game and get scouted to Europe.” He said.
