Joshua Dreams Ekiti United NPFL Promotion After They Bagged NNL Playoffs Ticket

Ekiti United shot stopper Joshua Oladeji has stated that is target is to see Ekiti United play in the Nigeria top-flight football league, (NPFL) next season after they made history by qualifying for the play off in the Nigeria National League(NNL), after ten years of campaigning in the country’s second tier football league.

Joshua kept six clean sheets in 12 NNL league appearance to help the Omiponle side clinch their first NNL playoffs ticket for the first time in ten years, he was in goal on Sunday as Ekiti United defeated Dynamite Force football club of Iyahmo, Edo State 2-1 at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado –Ekiti, in the final match of the regular season.

They finished second in group B1,Southern Conference of the NNL behind leaders Shooting Stars Sports club (3SC) of Ibadan, they earned 33points with a plus 6 goals difference. Group leaders,3SC made hunk of 41 points with a plus 19 goals difference. Go-Round Football of Omoku ended in 3rd place with,31 points and a plus 7 goals difference.

“It was a tough season for us, I am greatful for what we’ve been able to achieve together as a team”, said the goalkeeper.

“My target is to help Ekiti United Fc gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) that would be an icing on the cake of successful season”, he added.
