Ex-Nigeria coach Kadiri Ikhana has advised Enyimba not to sack it’s head coach Finidi George urging them to give him more time.

The People’s Elephant who had a brilliant start to the current campaign suffered their seventh defeat of the season in the Nigeria Professional Football League over the weekend which has seen them drop to seventh on the log piling more pressure on Finidi.

Speaking to brila.net, Ikhana has urged the club’s management to be patient with Finidi.

“I think the team should not be in hurry (to sack him), because Finidi George is just coming back to the country after many years abroad,” he said.

“He needs to sit down understand the terrain and learn how to cope with the new environment and especially with the habit of indigenous players, it’s not like Europe.”

“So considering the fact that he’s new to the environment and with the current results, I think they aren’t doing well.”

“And I think, he needs time to acclimatise to the league and also understudy the players, their mentality and other things. It is not easy to stay abroad for a long time and then return to fix things in the league.”

Enyimba faces a tricky fixture over the weekend as they host second-placed Plateau United who are unbeaten in their last nine matches.
