Kumbi Titiloye who is the Chairman of Kwara United and GM of the club Bashir Badawiy have both made history following the invitation of three Kwara United players into the Super Eagles.
There was serious jubilation in Kwara on Sunday night after the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) released the names of the Super Eagles players who will face Mexico on July 3 in America in an international friendly encounter.
Three Kwara United players who are captain Chris Nwaeze, left back Murtala Lawal and forward Stephen Jude made the list of the Super Eagles players who will travel to the United States for the big friendly match against Mexico.
So far this season in the NPFL, Chris Nwaeze has been superb for Kwara United in the defense scoring four goals for the Harmony Boys.
Left back Murtala Lawal has been amazing this season for Kwara United which has got him a nickname after the Brazilian football legend Marcelo.
Stephen Jude on the other hand has scored 8 goals for Kwara United this season and was also the first player this term in the NPFL to net hat-trick.
“I am happy with this latest development about my career and that of my other teammates who also made the list and I want to promise that we will be good Ambassadors of Kwara United in the national team,” Chris Nwaeze told Kwara United Media.
Since the management of Kwara United under Kumbi Titiloye and Bashir Badawiy came on board, they have been changing the face of the team for the better with incredible records.
Under Kumbi Titiloye and Badawiy Badawiy, Kwara United have topped the League table for many weeks this season – a feat the club last recorded 15 years ago.
Also, this will be the first time in the history of Kwara United that three players will be invited to the Super Eagles at the same time which is a testimony to the good work the management under Kumbi Titiloye have been doing.
Seyi Olofinjana was the last player from Kwara United invited to the Super Eagles and that was in the year 2000.
Olofinjana’s incredible performances then for Kwara United paved ways for him into the Super Eagles and featured in 48 games for the three-time African champions.
