Kwara Falcons Female team will make a long awaited comeback to the Nigeria Basketball scene at the 2023 edition of the
Nigeria Basketball Federation(NBBF) – Qualifier/Elimination competition for the Elite Basketball Womens League.
The club confirmed preparations is in top gear ahead of the Invitational programme purposely organised to give chances to recognised female teams in the country to participate in the prestigious Elite National Women Basketball League.
Kwara Falcons, alongside fifteen other teams will converge in Edo State to jostle for the available eight slots in the Atlantic Conference for a place in the women’s league from June 1st – 11th, 2023.
According to NBBF, the Invitational Tournament will be played in a
Round Robin Format in both Savannah and Atlantic Conferences so as to
give equal opportunity to all teams to progress to the NWBL powered by
Zenith Bank while teams that failed to qualify will automatically form
the first set of the Nigerian Female Division I League.
The Federation disclosed that the new development is in-line with the Musa Kida board plans to reposition Women’s Basketball
to reflect the developmental achievements of the Nigerian Women
Basketball domestically and internationally.
