The Executive Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has thrown his weight behind the Kwara State chapter of the Super Eagles supporters club (SESC) set to be inaugurated on Friday 11th March 2022 at the Kwara State Complex Stadium Ilorin.
The Governor who received the President, Prince Vincent Okumagba and members of the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC) at the Government House in Ilorin Kwara State on Thursday, commended the union for their continuous support for Nigeria national football teams, the Super Eagles adding that their support for the team has contributed immensely to success recorded by the National teams thereby urging them to continue to do more.
“I am delighted to receive this strong delegation from the Super Eagles supporters club, we thank you for the support you’ve been giving to the Super Eagles over the years, and making sure when they play away matches they feel at home because you are always there to urge them on with your voice, that support is invaluable”, he said.
He further expressed excitement with the idea to bring the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC) to Kwara State, however declaring his full support for the union in any capacity to ensure that they keep surging high supporting the Super Eagles.
The Governor also revealed his desire to host the Super Eagles in the near future but acknowledge the fact that the Kwara State Complex Stadium is currently unable to host any international match, he further assured that the state Government will priorities fixing it’s facilities adding that works will commence at the Kwara State Complex Stadium as well as the Offa Stadium to give the State an opportunity to someday host the Super Eagles.
“We are doing our best to make sure that we improve sport facilities in the state.
We are going to change the main bowl of the stadium in Ilorin here and also improve that of Offa to make them fit for the national league football games,”opportunity to someday host the Super Eagles”, he affirmed.
President of the Super Eagles Supporters Club Prince Vincent Okumagba was full of praise to the Governor for his hospitality and support adding that the Union keep supporting the Nigeria national teams to ensure that they do well in every competition that they compete in.
The Governor was then presented with a customized jersey of the Super Eagles supporters club (SESC) ahead of the novelty match between Team SESC and Team AA that will go down on Friday afternoon after the Inauguration on the same day.
