The Kwara State Football Association (KWSFA) has suspended Architect Olabunmi Dickalo from all state football activities. Dickalo, who serves as Chairman of the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC) Kwara State chapter and Chairman of Dickalo Football Academy, was found guilty of breaching the KFA’s statutes.
The suspension stems from Dickalo’s organization of a novelty match without the approval of the KFA. Despite being queried by the association, Dickalo failed to appear before the disciplinary committee on two separate occasions.
The situation escalated during the final of the Offa Pre-season Tournament on Friday, when Dickalo, despite being under suspension, attempted to receive a commemorative medal from the FA Chairman. The FA refused to present the medal, questioning how Dickalo had gained entry to the stadium while under suspension.
KWSFA Chairman, Idris Musa Abdullahi Thuraya, has vowed to take serious disciplinary action against Dickalo for his negligence towards the association’s sanctions.
