Kwara United handed Enyimba a 2-0 defeat in the rescheduled Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) matchday 12 encounter on Monday in Ilorin.
The Harmony Boys got off to a flying start, courtesy of a 3rd-minute penalty goal from Wasiu Alalade. The striker made no mistake from the spot, sending the Enyimba goalkeeper the wrong way.
Enyimba struggled to find their footing, and Kwara United capitalized on their dominance with a second goal in the 37th minute. Junior Aimufua’s strike proved to be the decisive blow, as Enyimba failed to mount a comeback.
The defeat compounds Enyimba’s woes, following their 2-0 loss to Kano Pillars in Kano on Thursday. Kwara United, on the other hand, will be buoyed by the win, which sees them climb up the NPFL table.
