Kwara United have been ordered by the League Management Company (LMC) to play their subsequent home games this season behind closed doors.
LMC chiefs who are in charge of the country’s topflight made this known in a letter sent to the Chairman of Kwara United Kumbi Titiloye.
In the letter, the LMC explained that they are not pleased with how some fans gained entrance into the stadium for the NPFL match-day 28 clash against Shooting Stars of Ibadan which Kwara United won 3-1.
It will be recalled that the LMC imposed the sanction of playing the game against 3SC with no fans following the encroachment of some supporters after the win against Rivers United in Ilorin in match-day 26 duel.
“Kwara United to play home matches behind closed doors until when the League Management Company is satisfied that crowd control measures are adequate.” the LMC explained in their letter to the Chairman of Kwara United.
As things stand now, Kwara United will tackle Akwa United this coming Sunday in Ilorin without fans in NPFL match-day 30 encounter and Kwarans can only hope that the LMC would rescind their sanction on the Harmony Boys before the end of the term.
With 9 games to go this season in the NPFL, Kwara United still have five home games to play at the Kwara state stadium in Ilorin.
Biffo and his soldiers will face Akwa United, Katsina United, Sunshine Stars, and double home ties against Nasarawa United and MFM.
Kwara United’s remaining away fixtures this season are at Lobi Stars, Enyimba, Niger Tornadoes and last game of the term in Owerri against Heartland on July 17th.
The Harmony Boys are currently occupying sixth position on the NPFL table as Coach Abdullahi Biffo and his warriors continue their pursuit of getting continental ticket.
