In an exclusive interview with Oma Akatugba TV, Nigerian international goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has opened up about his journey to becoming a key player for Italian Serie A side Udinese.
Okoye, who joined Udinese after sealing a four-year contract in 2023, initially harbored doubts about his chances of breaking into the team. However, his father’s unwavering belief in him proved instrumental in boosting his confidence.
“My father told me I would get my chance, and six months later, I made my debut,” Okoye revealed. “His encouragement was vital in helping me settle and eventually establish myself in the team.”
Since his debut, Okoye has been an ever-present figure in the Udinese goal, impressing with his outstanding performances. His impressive form has earned him widespread recognition, solidifying his position as one of the top goalkeepers in the Serie A.
