Super Eagles German-born Goalkeeper Maduka Emilio Okoye revealed the reason he opted to play for the Nigeria National team rather than his country of birth Germany, OwoSports reports
The 20-year-old speaking live from his based in Europe on friday night via a live radio sports show Femi and the Gang on Nigerian Info, however revealed his love for the country as a main reason he grabbed the opportunity to represent Nigeria.
“It has always been a dream to represent Nigeria, i grew up more licking Nigeria than the Germany with the blood of my father and the Nigeria Blood in me i feel way more like a Nigerian than German.
“When the chance came, i took it directly i didn’t have to think or wait for Germany, Nigeria has always been my first choice, too much love for this country.
Maduka Okoye made his Super Eagles debut against Brazil in Ukraine coming on for injured Francis Uzoho.
