Magate mourn ex-captain, sympathize with Rangers over death of Ifeanyi George, Ogbu

Former Magate FC captain, Eteka Gabriel, a best friend of Ifeanyi George and Emmanuel Ogbu both of Rangers International of Enugu were involved in a fatal car crash that claimed their life Sunday morning.

According to a reliable source, Gabriel who left Magate in 2018 season was among the three involved in the ghastly motor accident happened early on Sunday claiming the life’s of all on board, which included the Super Eagles midfielder and another Flying Antelope player Emmanuel Ogbu.

Meanwhile, the management of Nation-Wide League One (NLO) side, Magate FC has expressed its sadness over the death of his former captain and two Rangers International of Enugu players Ifeanyi George and Emmanuel Ogbu.

Late George, his friend Eteka and his teammates were said to have left Enugu Sunday morning, driving in a convoy of three cars to Lagos with Femi Thomas and Tope Olusesi driving the other two cars.

Their vehicle the ran into a broken-down long vehicle and all the occupants of the car lost their life in the process.

This is as a result of the corona virus pandemic break on all football activities in Nigeria. The players left Rangers camp this morning to their homes, Ifeanyi and his childhood friend Eteka and Ogbu a B team player of Rangers left Enugu this morning resulting to this fatal accident.

According to Owolabi Alesh, General Manager of the NLO team, the news of their death came as a rude shock as he prayed with Rangers management, late George, Ogbu and Eteka’s family the strength to bear the loss of their loved ones and be strong this trying time.
