Makanjuola Dreams A Future With Super Eagles

Captain of Nigeria U-23 National Team, Success Makanjuola has affirmed that he is not in a rush to play for the Super Eagles adding that it would happen at the right time.

The CD Diocesano forward who scored Nigeria’s goal in the 1-1 draw from the first leg against Tanzania in Dar Salam last weekend was yet again on the score sheet as he saw his penalty deflected off goalkeeper Aboutwaleeb Mshery into the net to double Nigeria’s lead as they defeat Tanzania 2-0 to progress to the next round 3-1 on aggregate.

“I am enjoying my journey. When the time comes I will play for the Super Eagles”, the winger responded when asked about his dream of playing for the senior national side.

“From the U-17, U-20 and now the U-23 I would say the journey has been interesting so far for me for the Super Eagles I would wait for that time to come”, He stated.

Talking about the mood after the victory he said, “This night is just all food. We need to enjoy ourselves after the victory.

He however stated that with the captains armband he has the burden of the nation on him but refuted that there are no pressure because he has the right people around who have supported him since the journey began.

“The captain arm band is a Burden of the nation but would say I have people who have supported me since the journey started, The coaches have encouraged me so I can say I am not under pressure because the right people are around me.

Nigeria will face Guinea in the final round of the qualifiers as they look to navigate thier way to Morocco 2023 for the African U-23 Nations Cup which will also serve as qualifiers for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
