Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel has pen down a contract extension with English Championship side with Stoke City.
The club announced via their official website that they’ve reached an agreement with the former Super Eagles captain to keep him at the Bet 365 stadium for a further twelve month.
The 34-year-old joined the Potters last summer after leaving Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor, he is now expected to remain at the Bet 365 stadium until summer of 2022.
“Contract extensions have been activated to retain the services of defender James Chester and midfielder John Obi Mikel,”reads a statement on the club website.
Mikel was an important figure for Stoke City featuring 41 times in the 2020/21 season as they finished in 14th position with 60 points from 46 matches.
