Morocco 2022: Super Falcons To Battle South Africa, Burundi, Bostwana In Group C

Super Falcons of Nigeria drawn alongside arch rivals the Banyana Banyana of South Africa, Burundi and Bostwana in Group C of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Morroco.

Recall that the Super Falcons defeated Banyana Banyana 4-3 on penalties to win the last edition of the competition four years ago in Ghana.

The South Africans however defeated the Super Falcons 4-2, the last time both teams met at the Aisha Buhari Invitational tournament in Lagos.

The Super Falcons will be seeking a record extending 10th WAFCON title in Morocco.

Hosts Morocco have been paired in Group A alongside Burkina Faso, Senegal and Uganda, Group B comprises of Cameroon, Zambia, Tunisia and Togo.

The Black Queens of Ghana and Lady Elephants of Cote d’l voire are two of the biggest teams on the continent, missed out on qualification to the competition.

The WAFCON will produce four automatic qualifiers for next year’s FIFA World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The tournament will be played in July, 2022
