Morocco 2024: Edo Queens, Others to Receive Historic Prize Money

In a significant boost to women’s football in Africa, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a substantial increase in prize money for the CAF Women’s Champions League Morocco 2024.

Each of the 8 participating African women’s football clubs will receive at least $150,000, with the winner taking home $600,000.

This 52% increase in prize money, to a total of $2,350,000, demonstrates CAF’s commitment to developing and growing women’s football on the continent. Under the leadership of Dr. Patrice Motsepe, CAF aims to invest in youth academies for boys and girls and make its competitions globally competitive and attractive.

“The significant increase in prize money for the CAF Women’s Champions League is a testament to our dedication to empowering women’s football in Africa,” said Dr. Motsepe. “We are committed to creating opportunities for African women to excel in football and inspiring the next generation of players.” He added.

Here is the breakdown of the prize money for the CAF Women’s Champions League Morocco 2024:

– Winner: $600,000
– Runner-up: $400,000
– 3rd Place: $350,000
– 4th Place: $300,000
– 3rd in Group: $200,000 each
– 4th in Group: $150,000 each

Edo Queens will fly Nigeria’s flag at this year’s CAF Women Champions League, The WAFU B champions carry the hopes of Nigeria in Africa’s premier women’s club football competition set to take place in Morocco between 09 – 23 November

Edo Queens will play in Group B alongside defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Tutankhamun (Egypt), and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC (Ethiopia).
