MST Talks City Boys FC Project After Clinching 3rd League Title

Former City Boys FC Head coach who is now the Sporting Director of the Club, Mujeeb Temitayo was full of praise and excitement for his lads after defeating Zeus FC 1-0 to emerge champions of the 5th edition of the Unilorin football league.

A well taken strike from substitute Igoh Godwin early in the second half was all The Boys from the City needed to clinch their third title in a fascinating final played at Mainbow of the Unilorin stadium on Sunday evening.

“It such an exciting experience. The hard work, the investment, time and energy, everything we’ve worked for did not go in vain”, excited MST said to owosports.com.ng.

MST who won the club’s second league title the last time as the gaffer was on ground to cheer the club to victory.

Now as the Sporting Director, he spoke extensively about the plan and projects ahead, stating that the club won’t only be competing at the Unilorin football league but also at the international scene.

He noted that the Club management has given them a lot of support and he is happy with the achievement.

“When i came to this club three years ago, The Chairman and the Team Manager had alot of believe in me. They didn’t just project me for a season even though i was in my final year in school then, they envisaged a long term project with City Boys FC not just for a season and now we are making them proud”. He said.

“The first season, we won the league, won it for the second time and we are now the only team to have won this back to back. We are the only team to have won this undefeated- I have to be sincere- it is an unbeatable record”, he affirmed.

He further added that City Boys FC is not just for Unilorin league as It’s ready to give all the footballers an opportunity for exposure and the chance to fulfill their dreams.

“We have great plans for the players of which I won’t be disclosing now- But they are aware. We came into this season with over fifteen new players and about ten of them are yet to make any league appearance”

“We signed players from relegated clubs last season and made them champions this season, it shows how much hard work we put in and shows how focus we are”

MST as he is popular called also revealed that some of his players have been snapped up by the Delta State for the Delta State league,saying the club is a global club and it’s always ready to help players progress in their careers.
