My Employers Asked Me To Take Charge Of Mexico Friendly, Eguaveon Explains

NFF Technical Director and former Super Eagles coach Agustine Eguaveon has stated that he will be in charge of the International friendly against Mexico because his employers the ‘NFF’ mandated him to do so, Owosports.com.ng reports.

The former Super Eagles defender also revealed that coach Gernot Rohr have been part of every home-based Super Eagles training session, contrary to reports.

Rohr has been heavily criticised for not taking charge of the team ahead of the international friendly against Mexico.

Speaking to media Eguaveon said he’s in charge of the team, because Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) asked him to.

“I was asked by the NFF to take charge of the Super Eagles for the Mexico friendly There is nothing I can do than to respect my employers.

He also explained that Rohr has available in the team’s training also giving his input.

“Rohr has also chipped in some advise and he has been part of every training session that we had.”

“He asked me why the players are not also training in a gym and I told him the hotel the players are lodged does not have a gym, but there is a misunderstanding, people are saying he doesn’t want to be involved and this is not his team, but I want them to get their facts right. He said.
