Remo Stars captain, Nduka Junior scored in the stoppage time to secure maximum points for Remo Stars against Kano Pillars their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 34 clash played in Ikenne on Saturday evening, Owosprts.com.ng report.
Ahmed Akinyele opened the scoring for Remo Stars in the 6th minutes, but Salisu Mustapha equalised for Remo Stars in the 48th minutes. Just when it seemed like the match was heading for a draw, Nduka Junior scored a late goal in stoppage time to secure the win for Remo Stars.
The goal was a result of a blunder by Kano Pillars’ goalkeeper, and Nduka Junior capitalized on the mistake to score his second stoppage-time goal of the season. The win was historic for Remo Stars, as they had never previously beaten Kano Pillars in a league match.
The victory moved Remo Stars up to second place in the league with 59 points, behind Rangers International.
They will face Lobi Stars in their next match in Lafia, looking to continue their momentum and push for the league title.
