The proposal of the code of conduct for Nigerian Coaches submitted by the leadership of Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA) has been granted approval by the NFF.
In a letter dated 17th of May, 2021 with reference number Volume II/204 and signed by the Technical Director of the NFF ; Augustine Eguavoen, the NFF said the policy document will help football development in the country.
“We are happy to inform you that your request for the approval of the coaches code of conduct that was submitted by you has been given management approval for you to go ahead and inform your members and enforce all the measures therein for the development of football in Nigeria” the letter reads apart.
It added that the football governing body is in support of efforts by NFCA to put all its members under check for the growth of the game of football.
Reacting to the development, the President of NFCA and the Head Coach of Nigeria Under-20 said the approval is another landmark achievement in the history of the association.
“Great NFCA, It doesn’t matter how slow we are in as much as we are stocked in our strive towards a greater height.This is another landmark in the history of our great association” said Bosso.
He expressed optimism that the development will add value to the coaching profession and further strengthen the institutionalisation agenda of his administration.
“With this approval,we are to embark on workable plans in conjunction with the Technical Department of NFF to serve our members with operational license as well as work permit to all our indigenous and foreign expertise accordingly before practicing coaching at any level within Nigeria” he added.
Bosso appreciated the NFF under the leadership of Mr.Amaju Pinnick for their understanding and consideration.
The NFCA leadership under Bosso has been advocating for the need to improve the standard of coaching in the country noting it as a pressing cause that deserves the attention of all stakeholders.
