The Nigeria Cricket Federation(NCF) has scheduled the International Women’s invitational T20I to hold from March 26 to April 6 in Lagos. www.owosports.com.ng reports
This was contained in a press statement released on Friday by Musa Ehizoje Bodie, the Public Relations of NCF.
NCF in the statement also revealed that it has extended invitations to 36 ladies to National Camp In Benin City for the tournament.
It noted that the ladies were selected for the tournament from the just concluded U-17 NCF/PwC championship in Abuja.
“The Nigeria Cricket Federation is pleased to inform the general public that a total of 36 ladies have been invited to open camp in Benin City, Edo State, as preparations begin for the NCF International Women’s invitational T20I scheduled to take place from the 26th of March to 6th of April 2022 in Lagos”
“The ladies invited are drawn from the pool of senior national team players and a blend of youth that were identified from the just concluded National Under-17 Championship. Nigeria will look to select the best from players invited as they look forward to the women’s invitational and other tournaments lined up for the year”
The statement added that a series of trial matches have been scheduled in a bid to further prune the team that will go into closed camping.
Countries expected to participate includes: Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Ghana, The Gambia, Cameroon and host Nigeria.

Recall that South South were the winners (boys and Girls categories) of the just concluded NCF/ Pwc U-17 championship in Abuja.
Meanwhile, all the players invited are expected to resume to camp on or before Sunday, February 27.
