President, Nigerian coaches association Issa Ladan Bosso has described indigenous coaches in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) as magicians.
Bosso however stated that any coach from abroad that wishes to coach in the league should first understudy a coach in the league before he graduates into a full time coach using Finidi’s travails in Enyimba and Eddy Dombraye recent predicaments in the league as a casestudy.
Bosso in a chat with www.brila.net stated having a Uefa license certificate isn’t enough for one to just leap into coaching an NPFL side, he further advised that the need to have the Nigerian mentality and also a proper orientation to survive coaching in the NPFL league.
“What is happening with Enyimba and the recent sacking of Lobi stars coach is as a result of what I’m talking about, they don’t have the Nigeria orientation of the league.”
“My expectations were for them to work under some of the Nigerian coaches in the league and learn one or two things, acclimatized as an assistant coach before they will graduate to be a full-time coach to sit on the bench in the elite league.
“Look at what is happening with Finidi and Dombraye, it’s not easy so, those coaches trained in the country here, I called them magicians because if you are not used to the system you will suffer it”. He concluded.
