Nigerians Land Prominent Roles In Europe’s Top Clubs

In a groundbreaking achievement, three Nigerian coaches/administrators have broken barriers by landing prominent managerial roles in top European clubs.

This milestone marks a significant turning point in the recognition of Nigerian talent in the global football industry.

Lukas Babalola, 27, has been appointed assistant manager of Feyenoord FC, teaming up with head coach Brian Priske, with whom he previously worked at Sparta Prague. Babalola is born to Nigerian parents in Denmark.

Former Super Eagles winger Sone Aluko, 35, has taken the reins as head coach of Ipswich Town, responsible for leading the team’s training and tactics.

Aluko’s appointment marks a significant milestone in his coaching career.

Ex-international Seyi Olofinjana, 44, has been appointed to a talent management role at Chelsea FC, overseeing the club’s talent scouting and development in Africa.
