Gernot Rohr has expressed good feelings after Nigeria beat Benin Republic 2⃣-1⃣ in an AFCON 2021 Qualifiers in Uyo, OwoSports.com reports.
The Franco-German said after the game at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Wednesday, “Benin Republic are good team, we knew what they did at the 2019 AFCON but our attitude was good. I’m happy with the result, to come back and win. Good to see competitions among the players.”
Asked if Uyo is better than Asaba, the Franco-German (smiles), ” You know the answer already. We are good everywhere in Nigeria, we had good hospitality in Asaba. But it feels good to be back in Uyo.”
Victor Osimhen and Samuel Kalu were the goal scorers for Nigeria after Stephane Sessegnon had put the Benin Squirrels in front in the 3rd minute.
The victory sees Nigeria go top of Group L with 3⃣points after Lesotho and Sierra Leone shared the spoils in Maseru
Rohr and his lads will now fly to Maseru to play Lesotho’s Crocodiles on Sunday, 17th November, on MatchDay Two of the qualifying series.
