SGFC Athletics Football Club has on Tuesday began their pre-season training at the KFA Pitch inside the Kwara State Stadium Complex Ilorin Kwara State.
The team began the pre-season training with an open screening as they look to add up quality to their ranks ahead of the commencement of the 2022/2023 Nationwide Division One League (NLO) season.
“The team is a work in progress. With the team available we are good to go there are numbers of players still coming in and I believe we are on the right part”, Head Coach Yakub Mashood said to the club’s Media team after the training sessions.
“We still have two days before the screening rounds up but we will work with the players present here today. I was impressed with their performance but there is room for improvement and with the right attitude from the players we will work together”. He added.
SGFC Athletics will on Wednesday 1st February 2023 take on Abraysports FC in the Kwara Football Association organized NLO pre-season tourney which kicks off by 8am at the KFA pitch in Ilorin.
Speaking ahead of the match Coach Yakub Mashood said the team will be ready for the encounter adding that it would be a good test game for his boys who are just coming together.
“The pre-season match with Abraysports FC tomorrow (Wednesday) would be a huge test for us but we will be ready for their test”, He said.
