With two more matches to go in the NNL Southern conference Group B2, there seems to be a lot to be desired for in the race of which team gets the NPFL ticket.
While all has been settled in Group B1 and A2, the fight for promotion in B2 and A1 is likely going to be a battle till the last day.
Although Bayelsa United currently leads the Group B2 with 40 points, Crown FC are also pushing for the ultimate prize with 39 points behind them, with Warri Wolves and Calabar Rovers having 37 and 36 points with the same objectives.
A look at the last two fixtures of the group means that each of the aforementioned team have one match at home and one away.One of the matches that seems more decisive is the game that will involve Warri Wolves and Crown FC at the former’s home ground in the week 25.
While Bayelsa will also travel away to meet Nnewi United, Rovers will also be on the road for their encounter against Relegation threatened Cynosure FC -all in week 25.
For the last game day in the group, Both Crown FC and Bayelsa United will play host to Nnewi United and Cynosure FC respectively while Warri Wolves will finish their own campaign on the road against Abia Comets.
In view of the foregoing, all the four teams has their chances to take in the race of who gets the ticket provided that things go their way.Apart from the one point difference between Bayelsa and Crown FC, the former still boasts of seven goals difference- a ‘chip’ that may also play a vital role in the battle at hand.
In a similar situation of Group A1 of the Northern conference where all is up for grab, Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri currently occupies the first position on the log with 34 points and will be on the road to face an uphill task against Sokoto United third on the log with 31 points in their last game of the season.
Another promotion-hungered team, City FC who are second placed on the log with 33 points will also be hoping to get the maximum points against Mighty Jets away from home.
