NNL21: Fabode Olaitan First Half Strike Earns Crown FC Maximum Point Over Stubborn Bayelsa United

It was a digdon affair at the LAUTECH sports complex football pitch Ogbomosho, where Crown football club picked up maximum points following a 1-0 win over Bayelsa United as they return to winning ways after they played out 0-0 at home to FC One Rocket and lost 2-1 to Goddosky football club away from home.

Ajelete Warriors who were looking to bounce back to form, started on the front foot and could have gotten the openner early in the 10th minutes when Emmanuel Adeyeye lunch on to a perfect cross only to see his strike being met by the woodwork.

Crown Fc continued to mount pressure on Bayelsa’s defence which game plan looked like they came with a mind set of defending deep, the pressure finally paid off in the 32nd minutes as Fabode Olaitan pounced on a defensive holler to fire Ajelete warriors into the lead.

The strike however turned out to be the winner at full time with no goal recorded in the second half as Crown FC held on to see off Bayelsa’s late scare in the second half to grab the maximum point which takes their tally to 18th on the Nigeria National League, NNL group B2 standings behind Remo Stars.

Speaking after the match was Manager of Crown football club, coach Oladunni Oyekale who applauded his team’s efforts commending them for sticking to the game plan which worked out as planned.

“Bayelsa United is not a small team I respect them, the game went as planned, the guys stick to the game plan and we got the win”, he said.

He also expressed optimism of getting a win in their next game away at Umahia against Holy Arrows as he target to end the first round with 21 points.

“Away games are not always easy, tho some teams have picked up wins away, we have also picked up two points from the road so we will be going to Umahia to try get a win and the first round with 21 points”, said the gaffer.
