Bright Osah was the hero for his side as his 92nd minutes strike gifted FC One Rocket a decisive win over Warri Wolves in the opening fixture of the 2022/2023 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
It was the first game of the 2023 NNL season, Nigeria’s second-tier football competition between host FC One Rocket and Warri Wolves played at the 18,000 capacity Eket Stadium, in Akwa Ibom State on Saturday evening.
The host got into the lead through Goodnews Paul just before the halftime break which increased the intensity of the game with Warri Wolves pushing for the leveller from different angles.
Warri Wolves kept on with the pressure in the second half, their persistency paid off as they drew level in the 88th minutes through Okere Shedrach.
With the game edging towards a stalemate, Bright Osah connected Samuel Anietie’s cross to score the winning goal and secure maximum points for Coach Ndubuisi Ndah tutored FC ONE Rockets.
It was the aonly game of the weekend with other matcheday one matches is scheduled to come up on March 18, 2023 across various venues in Nigeria.
