NPFL Super Cup: Shooting Stars’ Samuel Ayanrinde In Race For Top Scorer’s Prize

As the Oluyole Warriors, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan battle the People’s Elephants, Enyimba FC of Aba in Friday’s final, 3SC forward, Samuel Ayanrinde will also be in contention for the tourney’s top scorer award.

The gangling forward, goes into the grand finale with two goals, just one goal short of the leading goal scorer, Chijioke Mbaoma of Enyimba, who has scored three.

Ayanrinde scored the third goal in the Stars’ 3-0 nil win over Bendel Insurance on match day one and the vital equaliser against Rangers International on match day two.

Mbaoma was on target three times when Enyimba defeated Bendel Insurance 4-3 in Ikenne, on match day two.

Eleven other players, including Shooting Stars’ duo of Anthony Okachi and Malomo Taofeek, have each netted once, going into the final.

The highest goal scorer, according to the tourney’s organisers, will go home with the golden boot and a prize money of one million naira.
