NPFL: We Will Escape Relegation- Coach Festus Allen Reacts As MFM beat Kano Pillars

The newly appointed Technical Adviser of MFM FC of Lagos has described the team’s win over Kano Pillars on Sunday as a tonic that will galvanize the team away from relegation zone.

MFM FC defeated Pillars 2-1 in the early hours of Sunday as they begin the efforts to move out of the red zone.

Tunde Azeez had earlier opened the score line for the homeside in the 14th minutes before Jerry Alex brought back the visitors on terms in the stroke of the half time.

It was Oladayo Afolabi who eventually in the 50th minutes scored the match winner to handed the experienced gaffer a win in his first match with the club.

Speaking exclusively to www.owosports.com.ng after the game, the Tactician expressed his delight over the victory even as he said there are still more work to do.

“It was a tough game because both teams are in the drop zone. Most especially, the fact that we (MFM) are playing home away from home due to our banishment to Ijebu-ode Stadium and a match against an experienced side like Kano Pillars who are known for playing good football- I can only give glory to God and kudos to my players, Technical crew, management and fans for the victory” said the gaffer.

He further said “We have started the bid to take this team off relegation zone. This victory signals a new dawn in the team and a much as I would like us to enjoy the victory, I believe we still need to do more to achieve our ultimate target”.

” I would like to urge the Players, management and fans to remain focused and determined in our bid to bring back the good old days- It’s possible and I believe God will help us to to do it. We will escape relegation”

The former Shooting Stars, ABS Ilorin FC and Cynosure gaffer was appointed recently by the management of MFM FC to lead the team out of the ‘waters’ and restore stability back in to the fold of the ‘Yahweh boys’

Currently occupying 20th position on the log with 27 points, MFM FC will continue their push to remain in the league as they face Shooting Stars away from home in the matchday 29 of the league.
