The second stanza of the Nigerian professional football league resumed today 9th of May 2021 after a month break with games going down in different centers as scheduled.
However the match involving MFM Fc and Ifeanyi Ubah which was one of the two games billed to go down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu didn’t go down as Ifeanyi Ubah failed to show up for their match which meant MFM Fc where granted a walk over victory with three goals and three points.
Ifeanyi Ubah reacting to the development through their media officer Iyke Nwokedi stated that the club was not properly informed about the change of venue reason for the club’s unavailability for their NPFL matchday 20 clash with the Olukoya Boys.
“LMC never wrote the club that they were to play in Enugu for the second stanza of the league.
“Also if you look at the released fixtures it said Nnewi not Enugu”, He said speaking to Owosports.com.ng.
Being asked on the next step to be taken by the club following the development he said “We are just watching and keeping our fingers crossed because if we were to play in Enugu, the letter should have come through by Thursday evening at most but that didn’t happen.
We however await an action from the management of the club as the three points lost means the club drops deep into the relegation zone as they currently occupy the 19th position with 17 points.
