NPFL21: NFF Referees Committee Invites Eight Match Officials

According to a report credited to Kelechi Mejuobi,the Publicity Secretary of Nigeria Football Referees Association (NRA), the NFF Referees Committee has directed some officials who were on duty on the NPFL match day 24 to appear before it panel .

The referees totalling eight in numbers were on duty at two different match locations which includes the Plateau United against Kano Pillars match and Akwa United versus Kwara United encounter.

www.owosports.com.ng gathered that the development can’t be unconnected to the report of their conducts and dispositions in their respective matches.

They are expected to appear before the committee at Ijebu-Ode,Ogun State on 18th of June, 2021.

Officials on duty at the Plateau United against Kano Pillars match which ended 0-0 were, Ndubisi Ukah; Imo State, Adeniyi Femi;Ekiti State, Abibat Yusuf; Rivers State, Ahmed Abdullahi; Bauchi State and Babagoni Grema from Borno State.

Meanwhile, the Referees for the Akwa United versus Kwara State in Uyo includes Nura Abubakar from Bauchi State,Shehu Saidu; Kano State, Okoye Cosmas; Anambra State, Quadri Adejumo;Osun State and Edith Nwakire of Abia State.

The game in Uyo ended 2-1 in favour of the home side and has generated a lot of criticism with the visitors accusing the referee of denying them a penalty .

The NFF Referees committee and NRA has continued to deepen her cause towards maintaining the sanctity of the games with many Referees being invited for questioning while some are being expelled under the season in review.
