It was a barren draw between Niger Tornadoes and River United at the Kwara State stadium complex Ilorin on Saturday in one of the NPFL Matchday five fixtures.

River United controlled the game in the first half but where unable to breakdown the defence of Niger Tornadoes who had a shout for penalty waves away by the referee late in the first half following a foul on Musa Wakili.

The second half became more intensed as Niger Tornadoes came out searching for a goal Which wouldn’t come as the solid Rivers United defense held their own at the back to force a draw at full time.

A disappointing results at the end for Ikon Allah who where looking to bounce back from their last week humiliating 4-0 bashing in the hands of Rangers International in the match day four fixture of the ongoing league season.

Rivers United on the other hand remain unbeaten but were also looking to return to winning ways following their goalless draw against Sunshine Stars at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Portharcourt

The result temporarily leaps River United to the top of the table with Nine points, why struggling Niger Tornadoes also temporarily move up to 13th on league standings.

Niger Tornadoes will next week be away at Kaduna where they will take on Kano Pillars, while Rivers United will welcome Kwara United in Portharcourt.
