Junior Nduka’s masterclass freekick in the 62nd minutes was all that Remo Stars needed to edge out the Oluyole Warriors in one of the NPFL match day 11 encounters.
Expectedly, the South West derby was characterised by its usual thrills and glitz from the fans beyond the four walls of the pitch.
The visitors started brightly with the duo of Ayo Adejubu and Ebenezer Odeyemi tormenting the back line of the hosts whose defenders were also definitive in their responses.
Remo Stars had their defender to thank in the 22nd minutes of the game when Ayo Adejubu dribbled Kayode Bankole out of the way but had his efforts at goal blocked.
Shooting was forced to change their pattern in the second half after Ayo was substituted due to a knock stemming out from a minor injury he suffered in the first half.
It was end to end stuff as the visitors intensified thier search for an equaliser in the last quarter of the game- thus drawing the awe of the spectators and fans alike.
Kayode Bankole had to step up for the homeside between the sticks waiving out some shots at goal to ease the scare from Ibadan based team.
With the win, Remo Stars remained the only unbeaten team in the NPFL after match day 11 and have now regained back the top of the log from Rivers United who lost 1 nil to Plateau United away from home.
For match day 12, Shooting Stars will hope to continue their perfect home run of wins when they play host to Dakkada FC of Uyo while Remo will be on the road to face Gombe United at Ali Pantami Stadium.
