Niaja Ratels where on their elements as they held Confluence Queens to a goalless draw in one of the week five clash of the Nigerian Women’s Premier League, NWPL at the Kwara State Complex Stadium on Wednesday Afternoon.
Confluence Queens came into this game looking for redemption after their 1-0 defeat to Adamawa Queens FC in their last game, while Niaja Ratels came into the game undefeated having accumulated seven points from their last three league games with two wins one draw.
It was a game Confluence Queens would have won but they ruined the opportunity with so many missed chances, with the goalkeeper for Niaja Ratels being at her best on the day denying Confluence Queens on several occasions to her earn her team an important draw away from home.
Reacting to Confluence Queens performance was the assistant coach Paul Mene who stood in for the suspended Head coach Liadi Bashiru, he expressed satisfaction with his girls performance stating the need to be clinical in front of goal.
“It’s football anything can happen, they played well but couldn’t convert their chances”, he said in a post match interview.
“I am confident in my team, I know we would make the super six, we will go back to the drawing board to correct our mistakes in our next game am sure we will come out victorious”, he concluded.
