NWFL24: “We are in Owerri to beat Heartland Queens”- Merit Ada

Confluence Queens forward and vice captain, Merit Ada has said they are in Owerri to beat Heartland Queens and return to Lokoja with the maximum points, owosports.com.ng reports.

Both sides will square up on Wednesday afternoon for their Nigeria women’s football league (NWFL) matchday 4 clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

There have been just one meeting between the two sides which was the Federation cup round of 32 clash with Heartland Queens emerging victorious. Tomorrow’s encounter would be their first ever meeting in the top-flight league.

“Confluence Queens is here for the victory, this is my home it is good to be home and I am confident of leaving here with a victory tomorrow” she said to OWOSPORTS.COM.NG.

“Yes we didn’t have a good start to the season but we are gradually getting ourselves together you can see from our last away game against Adamawa Queens we won and our last game at home we also won. We want to continue in that sequence tomorrow against Heartland Queens “she said.

“The girls know what is at stake, we have our target which is to qualify for the super six and try to win the league so we are highly motivated and ready for the match tomorrow and God’s willing we come out smiling ” she added.

The match will kickoff by 4:pm Nigeria time in Owerri, Imo state.
