Adebayo Temitayo Abdulamid could not hold his excitement after his famous victory over Farouk Hussein in the Boys Table Tennis Singles Final on Tuesday at the 7th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, Owosports.com.ng reports.
In what was a Kwara derby finale, Adebayo Temitayo in the cracking contest narrowly edged out Farouk Hussein 3-2 ( 11-9, 13-11, 6-11, 8-11, 11-8) to pick gold while the latter settled for sliver.
The victory was special for Adebayo Temitayo because this was his first victory over Farouk Hussein who has overtime proved to be superior having defeated Adebayo in their previous meetings.
“I feel good and very happy because this is the first time I am beating him and doing it in the final makes me super happy”, Adebayo said to Newsmen after his hard fought victory.
“I felt bad after allowing him to level up despite being 5-1 up but i didn’t lose focus I kept pushing to get the victory”, He said.
