The Kwara duo of Hussein Faruq and Hameed Adebayo have won their games in the group stages of the table tennis competition at the ongoing 7th National Youth Games in Asaba.
Kwara’s Hussein Faruq outclassed his counterparts from Anambra and Ondo in two straight set 16, 7, 14 5, 14, 5 and 17 4 while Hameed Adebayo also from Kwara defeated Rivers and Akwa Ibom in two straight set to book a spot in the next round of the championship.
Speaking to press after the games, Faruq Hussein and Hameed Adebayo expressed gratitude to their Coach, Kehinde Aiyelabegan for his constant tutoring and mentoring, adding that they will approach the remaining games with renewed hope till the podium finish is achieved
