Kwara United on Wednesday suffered a painful 2-1 defeat against Shooting Stars in NPFL match-day 8 tie with the home team netting their winning goal at the death.
Abdullahi Biffo’s men were impressive in this encounter, but they lost concentration when it mattered to give Shooting Stars the win.
Both teams tried their best in the first half to find the back of the net with goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba making two fantastic saves.
Kwara United came out aggressive in the second half, and they had to wait until the 61st minute before scoring through Alao Danbani who benefitted from an assist by Junior Lokosa.
Ayo Adejubu restored parity for Shooting Stars in the 79th minute after Kwara United players lost concentration sending the home fans into total jubilation.
And when Kwara fans were expecting the referee to blow final whistle, Ebenezer Adeyemi rolled the winner in for Shooting Stars.
Kwara United gaffer Abdullahi Biffo expressed disappointment for the result gotten stressing that he will make necessary correction in his team.
“It’s so painful that we lost and we have to put that behind us now and plan for the next game in Ilorin on Sunday,” Biffo explained to Kwara United Media.
3SC coach Edith Agoye on the other hand praised the fighting spirit of his players stressing that the win against Kwara United will be a morale booster ahead of their next game.
Meanwhile, Kwara United will be facing Gombe United in their next NPFL game this Sunday at the Kwara state stadium in Ilorin.
