Ogbomoso Marathon 2020: MOC Unveils Plans As Inaugral Ceremony Hold

All plans aimed at delivering the best of the first of it’s kind Sporting Fiesta of the Ogbomoso Marathon Race 2020 coming up on the 2nd of May have been unravelled today 1st of February, 2020 at the ancient city of Ogbomoso.

The Flag off Ceremony which held at the Soun Ogunlola hall in Ogbomoso had in attendance well meaning Sports enthusiast and Stakeholders.

Declaring the event open the Olowode of Owode in Ogbomoso appraised the members of the organising committe for putting up such a wonderful initiative.

The traditional ruler noted that the Sporting event will contribute hugely to the socio-economical development of the land.

Reeling out the technical and strategic plan put in place for the programme, the chairman of the main organising committe, Prince Oyebamiji Aderemi said the initiative is aimed at improving the quality of life by advocating health and wellness and to also discover and promote hidden talents.”

While revealing all the technicalities that will shape the 10 Kilometers race, Prince Oyebamiji cautioned that there’s no age limit for the participants while maintaining the liberality of the fiesta as an open race for both gender.

“Our target is to influence people in sports and to build a society where everyone is physically active”.

Promising an adequate security and medical facilities for the event, he assured the general public of an aid stations for the participants in the course of the marathon and ultimately a huge cum attractive prizes for the first to fifth position (both male and female contestants) of the race and a certificate of participation to all who will be taking part in the event.

According to Prince Oyebamiji, registration for the marathon which has commenced today after the flag of ceremony will end on 1st of April.

He further explained that the collection of bib will start on the same day the registration ends while the medical test for all the participants will starts on 27th of April and end on 1st of May.

Also delivering a paper presentation on ‘Fitness and Wellness’, the proprietor of Immanuel Medical Center Ogbomoso, Dr. Paul Ajagbe applauded the Organising Committe for the programme.

He acknowledged the fact that the Marathon will enhance the health of all the participants, the medical practitioner also admonished that it should always tend to be moderate in approach.

Other dignitaries at the event were, the the chief coach Crown FC of Ogbomoso, Coach Waheed Bello, the commandant Red Cross Society, LAUTECH Ogbomoso, Radio and Television Broadcasters from the nooks and crannies of Oyo State.

The Marathon Race will hold on the 2nd of May this year in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria.
