Gbenga Ogunbote has agreed terms inprinciple to become Head Coach of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Sunshine Stars Int’l FC as he is set to sign a two year deal with the Owena Whales, reports OwoSports.
The tatician during his first spell qualified Sunshine Stars to two CAF Cup semifinals, the best feat the club has recorded.
He has now already sealed a reunion with his former employer’s by agreeing to rejoin Sunshine Stars after meeting with the top officials of Ondo State Football Agency ODSFA and the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports in the state.
Kabiru Dogo who is set to replace Ogunbote at Lobi Stars is expected in Akure this week to officially hand over the club properties at his disposal and bid the club farewell for the 2020-21 Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL season.
Sunshine Stars who initially had their eyes on Heartland coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, who has two years left in his existing contract with the Naze Millionaires backed off as Sunshine Stars where unable to pay Heartland compensation fee for the former MFM gaffer.
Gbenga Ogunbote, will be officially presented in a press conference in few days.
The tatician who’s leaving his managerial job at Lobi Stars has also handled Enyimba Int’l FC, Rangers Int’l FC, Shooting Stars, Kwara United, as well as Giwa FC and Sharks FC.
