Ansarul Islam Secondary School Offa and Ira Grammar School on Thursday qualified to the semi-final of the maiden Olofa Cup after eliminating St Mark Secondary School Offa and Government Secondary School Ilorin respectively.
St Mark Secondary School were no match for Ansarul Islam Secondary School who flogged them 3-1 to book a spot in the last.
Favorites, Government Secondary School Ilorin who were the only team that won all it’s Group A matches and scoring 10 goals were shown the exit door by Ira Grammar School.
The soaked tensed game ended up to being a thriller after Ira Grammar School put two goals past Government Secondary School Ilorin goalie who only conceded just a goal coming this far.
It was little too late for the boys from Ilorin who got a goal but it was not enough to force the game to extra time.
Ansarul Islam Secondary School Offa and Ira Grammar School will wait till Friday evening to know their semi-final parings as two quarter final matches will be decided at the Offa Stadium.
Offa Grammar School will take on Iludun Oro Comprehensive High School in the first quarter final match billed for 9:00 am while ECWA Secondary School Igbaja will faceoff with Unique International School Ikirun.
