OLOFA CUP: Govt Secondary School, Three Others Hit Quarter Finals

Government Secondary School Ilorin and three other schools, St Mark Secondary School Offa, Ansarul Islam Secondary School Offa and Ira Grammar School have qualified to the quarter-finals of the maiden Olofa Cup.

High-flying Government Secondary School Ilorin proved to be the team to beat and destined for the title after winning their last Group A, as they pummeled Moremi High School Offa 5-0 on Tuesday to become the first team to record 9points in the championship.

St Mark Secondary School, Offa who had recorded a point after drawing and losing one match each, had to play the game of their lives against Olalomi Comprehensive High School. That they did as they got their first 3point after a one nil win in a hard fighting game, to go second in Group A with 4points.

It was a close call in Group B as Ansarul Islam Secondary School Offa led the with 7points while Ira Grammar School Ira fell to second spot with 6points.

Ansarul Islam Secondary School pipped Ira Grammar School 1-0 while Government Secondary School walked over Ansarul Islam College who failed to show up for the game.

There will be four matches at the Offa Stadium on Wednesday to determine the four teams, two each from Group C and D that will join Government Secondary School Ilorin, St Mark Secondary School Offa, Ansarul Islam Secondary School Offa and Ira Grammar School in the last eight.
