Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has parted ways with his agent, Roberto Calenda, following a tumultuous transfer window according to Tribuna, Owosports.com.ng gathered.
The decision comes after Calenda failed to secure a move to Chelsea or Al Ahli, despite intense speculation.
Tribuna reports that Osimhen personally handled negotiations for his recent move to Galatasaray, excluding Calenda entirely. This development marks a significant shift in Osimhen’s career trajectory as he prepares for his new chapter in Turkey.
The relationship between Osimhen and Calenda began to deteriorate when Calenda oversaw Osimhen’s contract renewal with Napoli last year, which included a massive €130 million release clause. This clause complicated potential transfers, including failed moves to PSG and Chelsea.
Italian media outlets have criticized Calenda, with La Gazzetta dello Sport remarking that Osimhen was “really sent like a package that no one wanted to deal with anymore.”
This is not the first time Osimhen has changed representation, having previously parted ways with agents Jean-Gerard Benoit Czajka and William da Villa.
